What kind of photo works best?

A clear, well-lit photograph where the face fills a good part of the frame. Phone photos are fine. We will let you know if a photo will not engrave well and suggest alternatives.

Can you remove the background or other people from a photo?

Yes. Our artists prepare every photograph for engraving, which usually includes softening or removing the background. If you would like someone cropped out, tell us in the inscription notes.

How long does it take?

You will receive a proof within two business days of sending your photo. After approval, engraving and packing take three to five business days, then shipping.

Will the engraving fade outdoors?

No. Engraving removes the polished surface of the granite to reveal the lighter stone beneath. It is permanent and unaffected by sun, rain or frost.

Can I see it before it is engraved?

Always. We email a proof before anything is engraved, and you can ask for as many changes as you need. If we have not heard back within 48 hours of sending the proof, we treat it as approved and begin engraving, so please reply if you would like anything changed.

Do you ship outside the United States?

Not yet. Shipping within the United States is free.

What if it arrives damaged?

Granite is packed with great care, but if anything arrives damaged, email us a photo within seven days and we will replace it at no charge.
